How to get a VAT refund on a Sézane online order
To claim a VAT refund on your Sézane order with Zapptax, the most important step is to enter Zapptax's billing details before making your payment.
1. Add your Sézane items to your shopping bag
Select the items you want to buy, open your shopping bag and click Checkout.

2. Choose your delivery address
Choose a delivery option that allows you to collect your order in person before your departure. Depending on availability at checkout, Sézane offers home delivery, pickup points and collection from selected Boutiques or Conciergeries. However, Sézane does not allow deliveries to hotels.
For example, you can have your order delivered to a friend or relative's home, an eligible residential address, a pickup point or a Sézane Boutique when this option is available.

3. Use Zapptax's billing details
When entering your billing information, add a new address and use Zapptax's details.
For delivery in France:
Zapptax
23, rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau
75001 Paris
For delivery in Belgium:
Zapptax
Rue du Boulet 42
1000 Bruxelles
N° TVA : 0670 776 7742.
For orders delivered in Belgium, remember to enter the VAT number as well.
You can use your own phone number if Sézane asks for one.
4. Check your details before paying
Before confirming your order, simply make sure that:
The delivery address is where you will receive your purchases, while the billing address contains Zapptax's details.

Once you've placed your order, you'll need to download the invoice issued by Sézane.
Where can you find your Sézane invoice after ordering?
Sézane allows you to download your order invoice directly from your customer account.
Go to My Account > My Orders, open the relevant order and access its invoice.
Important: make sure you use the actual invoice, not just your order confirmation email. An order confirmation is not sufficient to process your VAT refund with Zapptax.

How to upload your Sézane invoice to Zapptax
Once you've downloaded your invoice, upload it to the Zapptax app and wait for it to be approved.
If you've made other eligible purchases in the same country, upload those invoices too. Zapptax can combine them into a single tax-free form.
What is the minimum purchase amount for a Sézane VAT refund?
You don't necessarily need to reach the minimum threshold with your Sézane order alone.
With Zapptax, multiple purchases made in the same country can be combined. The current minimum purchase amount is €100.01 including VAT in France and €125.01 including VAT in Belgium.
For example, an €80 Sézane order can be combined with other eligible purchases made in the same country.

What happens If you return a Sézane item?
If you return all or part of your order, it's best to do so before generating your tax-free form.
Your tax refund claim must reflect the items you've actually kept and will personally take out of the European Union.
If you've already uploaded your invoice to Zapptax when making a return, check your claim in the app before continuing.
Sézane currently allows 14 days after delivery to return eligible items.
How to complete your VAT refund before leaving the European Union
Once your invoices have been approved in Zapptax, request your tax-free form through the app.
Do this once you've finished shopping and made any necessary returns. Your tax-free form must reflect the products you're actually taking out of the European Union.
You must then have your tax-free form validated by Customs when you leave the EU.
If your final exit point from the European Union is in France, you can generally validate your form at a PABLO kiosk, provided your form is compatible.
If your purchases are packed in checked luggage, complete the tax refund formalities before checking in your bags, as Customs officers may ask to inspect the goods.
If you're leaving the European Union from a different country than the one where you made your purchases, remember to print your Zapptax tax-free form before departure.
Present the printed form at the Customs office at your final EU exit point. A Customs officer will need to stamp it manually. Then take a photo of the stamped form and upload it to the Zapptax app so your refund can be processed.
For example, if you placed your Sézane order in France but leave the EU from Amsterdam or Brussels, your French tax-free form must be printed and presented to Customs at your departure point.
FAQ
How much VAT can you reclaim on your Sézane purchases?
The amount of VAT you can reclaim depends on the total value of your purchases made in the same country, not just your Sézane order. With Zapptax, you can receive 70% to 90% of the VAT amount, depending on the combined value of your purchases. For items subject to a 20% VAT rate, this represents 11.66% to 15% of the price including VAT.
Can you order from Sézane before arriving in France or Belgium?
Yes. You can place your order before arriving, provided the items are delivered to France or Belgium, you can collect them in person during your stay and you then take them out of the European Union. For example, you can have your order delivered to a friend or relative's home or another permitted address where you'll be staying, while using the appropriate Zapptax billing details.
Can my name appear on the Sézane invoice alongside Zapptax's details?
Yes. Your first and last name can appear on the invoice alongside Zapptax's billing details, particularly if you want to keep a document in your name for warranty or insurance purposes. In France, the key requirement for a VAT refund through Zapptax is that Zapptax's name and address appear correctly on the invoice.
How long does It take to receive my VAT refund?
There is no guaranteed fixed timeframe, as the refund depends in part on when Zapptax receives the VAT credit from the tax authorities. Depending on the claim, this may take several weeks or even a few months. Your refund is guaranteed once your tax-free form has been correctly validated electronically or a stamped tax-free form has been uploaded to the app.
